The Balag at Tukod project was conceived out of the Filipino’s innate spirit of generosity and kinship. It draws on the Bayanihan concept to spur multisectoral participation, capacity building, community cooperation and involvement in building a sound cultural economy as the nation strives to recover from the impact of Covid-19 pandemic. Supported by the NCCA through its National Committee on Cultural Education, the project is currently implemented by the Tagum City Council of Women Foundation, Inc. In March 2021, the Balag at Tukod ug Tambayayong webinar series under the auspices of Philippine Women’s College-Davao thru the Center for Innovations and Social Ventures. Webinars on Edible Landscaping, and Food Safety Packaging and Basic Marketing Principles featured industry experts and were attended by Balag at Tukod project beneficiaries from various communities and schools.
