Brunei Darussalam hosted the 3rd BIMP-EAGA Budayaw Festival of Culture and Arts 2021, a month-long virtual festival, which had kicked off virtually on 18 December 2021 with an opening ceremony. The theme of this year’s festival is “Deep in the Eyes, Close to the heart.” It brought various virtual cultural, and creative activities to the BIMP-EAGA communities. At the same time, it highlighted the critical connection of culture and technology in fostering exchanges and developing an appreciation of ethnic diversity in the BIMP-EAGA region. The theme also depicted the revival of strategically important cultural partnerships during the pandemic Covid-19. Through these activities, artists, cultural experts, and professionals could flaunt their cultural and artistic expressions.
One of the components of the festival was the Fashion Webinars and Fashion Film Showcases. It aimed to nurture a greater understanding and appreciation of the BIMP-EAGA Fashion Industry through educational, experience, and knowledge sharing discussion and dialogues. These dialogues discussed activities and challenges of the fashion industry, identifying business opportunities, and optimizing technology to showcase fashion trends to a broader audience.
